Is that a chill in the air? Nah, not quite, but we’re officially in autumn, and not a moment too soon.

The boy (who’s almost back to normal after his vet visit) likes fall, but gets freaked out by the crinkle of leaves, so it’s a good thing he hasn’t been an outside cat for about 10 years. Still, he’ll watch them … safely, from inside the house. There might be squirrels in those piles.

  1. Winter can be a great equalizer. I recall the distraught homeowner asking a landscaper, “How can I have my yard look as nice as my neighbor’s without spending a ton of money?”

    “Pray for snow.”

  2. Alright people… that’s enough chatter about snow! Let’s focus on the cat in the leaves and especially the possibility of the cat having a tree rat smorgasbord. Now there’s something one can truly fantasize about!

    • But … but … snow! 😉

The boy can only fantasize about the tree rats, and the tree rats know it … which is why they occasionally station themselves on the bars on his favorite window. Truly cruel creatures. I spit on their tiny hands and fluffy rat tails!
